The COVID-19 pandemic may have raged on throughout 2021, but celebrities got vaccinated, stayed safe and returned to the red carpet. So, when events including Met Gala, Venice Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival, and much more came back this year, celebrities turned heads with their high-fashion looks.
Below, we round up some of our favourite red-carpet moments of the past 12 months. From Zendaya wearing a stunning nude design to those stars who opted for elegant customs, these were the most glamorous and fashionable red-carpet moments of 2021.
Megan Fox in Mugler
Actress Megan Fox attended the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards wearing a Mugler gown with crystals over an embellished thong and nude corset bra on the red carpet. Underneath the dress, which was covered with jewels, Fox covered up with sparkly underwear.
Megan took a minimalistic approach with her accessories, wearing just two rings on each hand. She complemented the look with nude-coloured shoes.
Kendall Jenner in Givenchy
Kendall Jenner took inspiration from old Hollywood, reimagining a Givenchy look designed for Audrey Hepburn in “My Fair Lady”.
Kendall Jenner’s twist came in a crystal-embellished gown with a cascading train and was also designed by Givenchy. The version Jenner wore included a striking sheer finish, styled with a nude thong. The stunning jeweled necklace and shoulder pieces emulate the original, while her slicked back hair adds a modern twist to the iconic original.
Bella Hadid in Schiaparelli Haute Couture Fall-Winter 2021/22
Supermodel Bella Hadid took part in the Tre Piani (Three Floors) premiere at the 74th annual Cannes Film Festival. For the event, she wore an avant-garde gown from the Schiaparelli Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2021/22 collection, designed by Daniel Roseberry.
The form-fitting black wool dress had a neckline that cut under Hadid’s chest, which was covered by a gold-dipped necklace in the shape of the bronchi passageway of the lungs, adorned with rhinestones.
Her hair was styled in a high bun. She added accessories to the look with large ruby drop earrings and a ruby ring.
Zendaya in Balmain
The “Euphoria” actress attended the Dune premiere in a custom Balmain dress the color of her own skin tone. The sleeveless dress featured a round neckline, a gathered detail around the waist and a high slit starting at the top of the star’s thigh. The 25-year-old star also wore matching nude stilettos.
