The crème de la crème of American fashion came together tonight for the 2025 CFDA Fashion Awards, hosted by the Council of Fashion Designers of America at New York City’s legendary Museum of Natural History. This year’s gala — presided over by CFDA chairman Thom Browne and CEO Steven Kolb, and hosted by multi-hyphenate star Teyana Taylor — was a spectacular blend of artistry, glamour, and individuality. On the arrivals carpet, Jenna Lyons, designer and Real Housewives of New York City star, welcomed guests in her signature effortless-chic style.

The night celebrated the best of American fashion with nominees including Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Thom Browne, Mike Amiri, and Willy Chavarria for Menswear Designer of the Year, while Ralph Lauren, Tory Burch, and Wes Gordon for Carolina Herrera led the Womenswear Designer of the Year category. Special honorees included A$AP Rocky, receiving the Fashion Icon Award, and Donatella Versace, who was recognized with the Positive Change Award for her ongoing advocacy and influence.

The guest list sparkled with familiar faces from music, film, and fashion — from Naomi Campbell to Julianne Moore — but the real spectacle unfolded on the red carpet. Here’s a closer look at some of the evening’s standout ensembles.

Accompanying her partner A$AP Rocky, who made an elegant statement in Chanel, Rihanna once again redefined red-carpet dressing. The singer and beauty mogul arrived in a structured Alaïa ensemble that perfectly merged sensuality and modern tailoring. Her look featured a sharply cinched, slit trench coat paired with pleated white trousers that extended seamlessly into glossy black heels. The high-neck black sweater underneath added contrast and structure, while her sleek hair and minimalist makeup allowed the bold silhouette to take center stage. As always, Rihanna proved that fashion’s true power lies in reinvention.

The floor-length dress, drenched in liquid gold tones, featured the brand’s signature sculptural fit with a daring thigh-high slit and asymmetric neckline. A metallic belt accentuated her waist, while sleek, wet-look hair and bronzed skin gave the ensemble a sun-kissed glow. Valletta’s confidence and poise made her one of the evening’s undisputed fashion icons — a living embodiment of Versace’s golden-era energy.
