From Taylor Swift to Rita Ora, celebs turned heads with their exquisite outfits and statement-making unique styles at the 2022 MTV Europe Music Awards.
The European Music Awards (EMA) took place this past weekend in Düsseldorf, Germany, and stars from around the world gathered to celebrate some of the biggest names and moments in European music.
The ceremony hosted the best in international music with one clear star of the night: Taylor Swift. The singer, who has just released an album, has returned in style, taking four awards of the six categories in which she was nominated in a gala that was hosted by Rita Ora and her husband, filmmaker Taika Waititi and had such top performances as Bebe Rexha and David Guetta performing ‘I’m good (Blue)’ or Muse with ‘Will of the people’.
As usual, American, European and global superstars strutted down the red carpet in their finest gowns and designer attire. The red carpet was full of transparencies, from Rita Ora’s naked dress to Taylor Swift’s fishnet dress. The cut outs appeared in the looks of Lola Lolita, Elettra Lamborghini or Victoria Swarovski.
This year, the red carpet seemed to highlight a few more niche designers alongside the usual big name fashion houses. Vintage, custom and fresh off the runway were on the table at this year’s event.

LEONIE HANNE
Leonie Hanne was also present at the MTV EMA Awards 2022. For the occasion, the influencer and model opted for a Valentino gown, which featured feather broom and coloured-sequins.
TAYLOR SWIFT
Pop singer, Taylor Swift, looked amazing in a David Koma black ensemble. The dress comprised a black bodysuit with spaghetti straps and a show-stopping, jewel-embellished sheer netted skirt and adorned with larged emerald gemstones. She paired the look with black stilettos and edgy ear cuffs.
As one dress was not enough, she went for a low-cut, jewel-crusted black ensemble. It was a sequin lustre dress featuring a black polo collar and half sleeves. This dress was also designed by David Koma.
BEBE REXHA
Bebe Rexha wore one of the most extravagant ensembles so far. For the occasion, she opted for a creative high-fashion couture look, which featured an edgy blue velvet bodysuit by Fjolla Nilla, and an abstracted panel draped around. She paired the outfit with velvet high heels.
AVA MAX
Ava Max wore a green velvet Roberto Cavalli cutaway dress with a sweeping train. She completed the look with black high heels.
TATE MCRAE
Canadian singer, Tate McRae, looked stunning in an all-black Versace ensemble, which featured glossy leather pants, a corseted puffer jacket, and matching boots. She completed the look with golden hoops, chains and rings.
RITA ORA
Singer Rita Ora looked stunning in a black and red lace bodysuit by Elie Saab. The dress featured a plunging keyhole neckline and bare back. She completed the look with a pair of chunky black platform heels, bracelets and rings.
MAYA JAMA
British media personality and DJ, Maya Jama, looked gorgeous on the red carpet wearing a body-coloured, long-striped, translucent evening dress.
