Each year, the Governors Awards, hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, provide clues as to who might be recognized as nominees when the Oscars arrive.

While the ceremony itself is fairly low-key, the event’s red carpet has become one of the first major stops on the awards circuit, and the attendees are a good sign of what’s to come.

The 13th annual Governors Awards, which took place in Los Angeles on Saturday night, November 19, welcomed some of the biggest names in film this year, from Margot Robbie to Jennifer Lawrence.

Moreover, the Academy’s Board of Governors honoured four individuals who have made contributions to cinema and the world. Michael J. Fox, Diane Warren, Euzhan Palcy and Peter Weir received honorary Oscar awards during the ceremony.

Many of Hollywood’s biggest stars and this year’s Oscar hopeful attended the glamorous evening. From Ana de Armas to Margot Robbie, the guests who walked the red carpet left us with looks to remember. Below, we compile the party dresses they chose for the occasion.
