The 2000 is back! Dolce & Gabbana unveiled its Spring 2022 collection

Fashion designers, Stefano and Domenico Gabbana unveiled the Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2022 Ready-To-Wear collection during the Fashion Week.

The 2000s are back, whether, in the form of crop tops or chunky rings, old-time trends are sweeping the Fashion Week runways. On this occasion, it is Dolce & Gabbana who has won the position for the best collection of the moment. Dazzling, shiny and glamorous sex appeal are the characteristics that define this Spring 2022 collection by Dolce & Gabbana.

Brassieres and miniskirts were some of the clothing items that stood out on the catwalk, some cut asymmetrically, others with transparency to reveal the lace of the model’s lingerie. We could also observe evening dresses with prominent necklines for maximum exposure to lingerie, while corsets, waspies, and bathing suits were once again positioned as outerwear. “We thought we’d do something not similar, but in the same mood as that 2000 collection. We’re coming out of a dark time” – meaning the pandemic – “and we want to enjoy life. We want light,” backstage Gabbana said.

The collection took place on a long mirrored runway at the Metropole in Milan with a disco-like atmosphere. The designers, Stefano and Domenico Gabbana raided their Spring 2022 collection, updating archive pieces and reinventing old staples and elements for the elusive Gen-Z. Those references came courtesy of exposed G-strings and bralettes, this, mixed with embellished denim sets, flowers, butterfly-like shoulders, animalier prints, lace, zebra-print shirts with outrageous architectural sleeves, and little sequin mini dresses.

Moreover, throughout the collection, the show light theme came into play via reflective embellishments, from all-over sequins and shiny jacquard to gemstone-studded purple jeans.
