The singer’s new GXVE line of makeup includes three formulas of her signature red lipstick.
The Sephora-exclusive makeup line “GXVE” is Gwen’s first-ever project. It features eight products, including eyeshadow palettes, eyeliner, brow pencils and red lipsticks. “GXVE” is clean, vegan and cruelty-free, and the products also come in recyclable packaging.
Gwen Stefani has always been in love with makeup and cosmetics. She has worked many times as a beauty ambassador for big brands such as L’Oréal, Revlon and Urban Decay.
She expressed herself and said that, although she had not planned to start a career in acting, she had always thought about working in cosmetics. “Music was something unexpected, but makeup is something I’ve always done since I was a little girl. I don’t know why. I don’t know how, but it was born in me. I’ve always loved it,” she said.
The iconic singer has currently decided to enter the beauty industry and launch her makeup line. She debuted the brand at a private event in her hometown of Anaheim. There she took over family-owned Italian restaurant Mama Cozza’s and serenaded Los Angeles beauty editors with a four-song set that included “Underneath It All,” “Just A Girl,” “Don’t Speak” and “Hollaback Girl.”
Stefani gave the media a little insight into the inspiration behind her cosmetic style. “My looks have always been inspired by old Hollywood: red lips, matte powders, cat eyes, sharp eyebrows,” she stated.
When it comes to her makeup today, her philosophy is “enough is never enough.” That’s why, despite the many celebrity beauty brands that have hit the market in the last two years, she had no hesitations about bringing GXVE into the fold. “I feel pretty confident that people can trust me on this,” Stefani says. “This is what I’ve done my whole life. I know I’m good at it.”
The iconic singer’s new beauty line “GXVE” features a range of products, including an eyeshadow palette in four colour collections (matte neutral, deep golden bronze, rose gold and matte smoky), a 24-hour waterproof eye pencil and double-sided brow pencils. It also includes a hydrating makeup primer oil with soothing meadowfoam seed oil and the singer’s signature scarlet lipstick (available in matte black and metallic blue, satin and liquid finish liquid).
“I don’t need to do this. I don’t need to work. But with all the blessings behind me, this is what I give back,” she said, stressing that she is happy to be able to offer her cosmetics knowledge to her fans. The singer added, “This is my chance to have a legacy and build my purpose. I know that makeup gives me a feeling and that’s why I’m doing this because I want to share it with people.”
