Tate McRae Brings ’90s Supermodel Energy to Calvin Klein’s Fall 2026 Campaign

Tate McRae is stepping into a new fashion chapter as the face of Calvin Klein’s Fall 2026 denim campaign, channeling the effortless sensuality and minimalist attitude of the brand’s iconic ’90s era.

The campaign, titled “Feel the Fit,” marks McRae’s first-ever collaboration with Calvin Klein and arrives during an especially significant year for the pop star. Following her first Grammy nomination and a run of major festival performances, the singer and dancer is adding another high-profile fashion moment to an already busy 2026.

“I feel so honored to be a part of such a timeless and iconic brand,” McRae said. The singer has long drawn inspiration from the supermodels of the 1990s, making Calvin Klein a natural fit for her personal style. “I reference so many images from ’90s supermodels,” she explained, adding that she feels the brand “really encapsulates” that aesthetic.

Photographed and directed by Carlijn Jacobs, the campaign places McRae against a softly lit backdrop while she wears a series of pared-back denim looks. White tees, fitted silhouettes, and relaxed jeans create a distinctly nostalgic mood while keeping the focus on the clothes and McRae’s movement.

The imagery recalls some of Calvin Klein’s most memorable campaigns from the decade, including Kate Moss’s famous 1993 Obsession shoot photographed by Mario Sorrenti. Rather than simply recreating the past, however, McRae brings her own athletic energy to the familiar Calvin Klein formula.

Among the denim featured in the campaign are the brand’s ’90s Straight Jean and Low-Rise Baggy styles. Denim already plays a major role in McRae’s wardrobe, making the partnership particularly personal.

“Denim is such a massive part of my wardrobe,” she said.

The shoot even appears to have influenced her usual preferences. Although McRae typically gravitates toward low-rise jeans, she revealed that one particular style changed her mind. “Usually I’m a low-rise jean girl,” she said, before admitting that she has recently been wearing high-rise skinny jeans after working on the campaign.

For McRae, however, fashion is about more than aesthetics. As a professional dancer whose performances frequently involve demanding choreography, she needs clothing that can keep up with her physicality.

“I’m usually ultra-specific in what I can wear as a dancer,” she explained. “I need to feel free, I need to feel comfortable.”

That requirement became an important part of the campaign itself. Rather than standing still and modeling the denim, McRae twists, stretches, bends, and moves through the images, emphasizing the flexibility and wearability of the pieces.

The accompanying campaign film takes that concept even further. McRae dances to Deee-Lite’s “Groove Is in the Heart,” reinforcing the project’s unmistakable ’90s influence. She worked with choreographer Sergio Reis on the video and had just around 20 minutes to learn the choreography before filming.

For McRae, the pressure was part of the appeal.

“That’s my favorite type of energy—spontaneity and high-pressure situations where you have to be put on the spot and figure out what looks best in the space, and make the campaign come alive,” she said.

The Calvin Klein partnership arrives after a packed summer for the singer, who headlined major festival stages including Lollapalooza and Osheaga. Her performances have continued to fuel anticipation around her next musical era, particularly as fans wait for news of her fourth studio album.

McRae’s previous album, So Close to What, arrived in February 2025 and became a major commercial success. Since then, speculation surrounding her next release has only grown, with fans frequently joking online that the singer seems to be everywhere except the recording studio.

McRae, however, insists that new music is very much in progress.

“I always get comments like ‘She’s everywhere but the damn studio,’ and I’m like, ‘Girls, I’m in the studio,’” she said with a laugh.

In fact, by the end of her conversation, McRae was preparing to head directly back into the studio. Her outfit for the occasion? Calvin Klein jeans paired with a simple white tank top—a look that could easily have come straight from the new campaign.

With its combination of minimalist styling, ’90s nostalgia, movement, and McRae’s unmistakable energy, Calvin Klein’s Fall 2026 campaign feels less like a conventional celebrity endorsement and more like a natural meeting of two identities. For a performer whose style is increasingly becoming as recognizable as her music, the collaboration arrives at exactly the right moment.
